Stamped Concrete
Patterned and coloured concrete — patios, walks, porches and drives
Stamped concrete gives you the look of cut stone, slate, brick or plank for a fraction of what laying the real thing costs, in one continuous slab with no joints for weeds to grow through and nothing to settle or come loose. We stamp patios, front walks, porches, pool surrounds and driveways, usually in an ashlar slate or seamless stone pattern, with colour worked in two ways: an integral colour through the mix and a release powder that shadows the texture so the surface reads as stone rather than as tinted concrete. The whole job lives or dies on timing again — the mats have to go down in the narrow window when the slab will hold an impression but will not take a footprint, and the crew has to keep moving across it in order. Once it is cured we wash off the loose release, then seal it, which is what makes the colour come up. Plan on resealing every two to three years; on a south-facing Knoxville patio, closer to two.
